Snow!

Let’s talk about it. Our first big snow of the season, and hopefully the last. It was gorgeous coming down, most of us got to sit inside and enjoy it. The pain comes with the aftermath and cleans up. I have to say, I know the guys are out there shoveling hard with a lot of ground to cover and kudos for getting there pretty quickly, but does it ever meet our expectations? Probably not. So share your story, how was your shovel job?

Here are some of my observations-

I know there aren’t a lot of places to put the snow, but right here? Where is this all going to go when it melts? The doorways will probably be flooded. Just a little to the left is all open area; if you are going to shovel couldn’t you just shovel a little away from the doors? Also, not just this building but I noticed on most the gutters are buried under feet of snow and I am willing to bet the bottom is covered by ice. I can’t imagine this will be good when it rains later this week. Nowhere for the water to go up. More roof damage and leaks?

My other observation is the guys started to shovel at the end of the building below. However, they missed the part that went to the parking lot. Why? Because they said there was too much snow ( I kid you not). I’m sorry, isnt that what we are paying you for? So who shoveled it? The homeowners.

  1. As usual, I had to shovel my own long way from doorway to parking lot. This happens continuously because the men hired to do the shoveling don’t have a layout/map of where the sidewalks are.

Typically I have to stand outside gesturing wildly like a crazy person hoping to get their attention because the men are wearing headphones and can’t hear me if I shout.
